Inspiration

As part of my course we are planning a Murder Mystery evening at a local restaurant, and for some reason we have decided on a 1980s theme... Oh-Emm-Gee, I have to find an outfit!! So, after a scout on eBay for a bargain, we concluded that the 1980s was a hideous era for fashion...

Maybe they'll let me do a Debbie Harry tribute instead..

Delicious

Home grown, Home-made Tomato and Chilli Soup

This evening I decided that I should probably use some of my home grown produce, and what could be more perfect than a gorgeous home made soup! This is my recipe for the soup:

Ingredients

Around 25/30 cherry tomatoes
A red onion
1 or 2 chillies (depending on how you like it)
Tin of tomato juice
Small tube of single cream
2tsps of vinegar
2tbsps of sugar
I also added a carrot for thickness (chopped and boiled)
Salt and pepper to taste

1) Roast the tomatoes and red onion in a little oil for 15 mins, gas mark 7
2) Add to saucepan, chuck in chopped chillies and carrots
3) Use a hand held food processor to create a thin paste. My tomatoes contained a lot of seeds, so I just sieved it into another pan.
4) Next add your tin of tomato juice and cream. Return to heat.
5) Add in vinegar and sugar to taste.

There you have a simple but perfect tomato and chilli soup. Next time I won't be using so many chillies! Still, wonderful for a rubbish English evening.

Falling from high places, falling through lost spaces

This new blog will bring to you all the things that I love, all the things that inspire me and hopefully bring you a little bit of joy each day.

My inspiration of this week has been the new album 'Every Kingdom' by Ben Howard. It really is a wonderful example of pure talent that can get you through any troubled times. Mine this week has been the realisation of just how much uni work I have to complete by Christmas, but I guess that's what you get during your last year. I know it will all be worth it in the end! Any way, please take a listen to this and all your troubles will float away.
